Head Coach Reports on Each Session:
The Final Points Table. We came 18th with 29 points. Well done!
OVERALL COMMENT:
At the end of "the Kents" our swimmers accumulated 29 Points (14 more than last year - despite the standards being higher this year). Points from Brandon ( Three 8th places 3x1=3, a fourth=5, a fifth=4 and a sixth=3. Hence 15 points) and Lois (a fourth and two fifths 5+4+4 =13 points). Also Leigha one 8th place = 1 point. Eight finals were reached (200m races were HDW). Well done to the three of you! Genny's 4 golds and 1 silver do not count to the points table, which excludes para-swimming medals, which is not great for para-swimmers or us. Really well done Genny.
Our other 11 swimmers swam really well and all gained at least 1 LC PB and have made significant progress since the Kents 2016.Well done to Oliver Durrant, Polly Thomas, Rachel Gearing, Ed Dickinson, Matilda Durrant, Lily Durnford, Samuel Dickinson, Freddie Dolman, William Fitzpatrick, Kayla Moerman and Daisy Richards.
Daisy Richards deserves a special mention for her very high placings in the 10/11 age group despite being a year "young".
This 2017 Kents' performance is a major step forward for the club who finished higher in the points table than Dover, Canterbury, Herne Bay, Ashford Town and Gravesend, amongst others - all "bigger" clubs with far more competitive swimmers to choose from.
A big thanks to the Coaches, Team Managers, Officials and Volunteers for all their excellent efforts at the Kents this year. Roll on the 2018 Champs.
