About Us

A message from our Chairman

"We are a family club which aims to assist our swimmers and volunteers to achieve their ambitions in the sport of competitive swimming. As such we strive to provide excellent tuition for the swimmers and an enhancement of the swimming careers of, and opportunities for, our coaches, teachers and officials. In return we expect loyalty, honesty and commitment from all.    

We aim to forge greater links with other organisations in the area for our mutual benefit. Sheppey has a wonderful community spirit and we are privileged to be a part of it. The beautiful Island of Sheppey is our home and we love it! We aim to contribute our time and money to worthy charitable causes which benefit the people of the local community.

Our 'Learn to Swim' section is, in my opinion, one of the best in Kent. It provides us with a stream of future top competitive swimmers but also provides a valuable service to Sheppey Islanders, where knowing how to swim well is so important.

To our older competitive swimmers -  my aim is to make sure your time at BSS is challenging, character building and enjoyable. I hope you will form lifelong friendships with your  current teammates and will  look back  proudly and happily on the time you spent with us, with a sense of achievement, should you eventually leave. "
