Feb 12th 2022 Medway 1

Yesterday our squad was at the Medway ASA Champs gala 1 and oh my what a great day it was!

We had 16 PBs (Elias,Max, Archiex2, Ming, Sharay,Edie, Dottie, Lilly, Patricia, Veronica, Hope, Kayla, Beth, Grace x2) recorded, and 10 finalists with 2 in the top six of the 400Fr HDW event.

Congratulations to all our swimmers in the finals earning themselves a medal. Max (in 11yo 50 Fly) & Xian Ming Li ( in 14yo 100Fly) achieved 1st places and Ciaran was 5th in the 50m Fly with Archie taking 3rd place in the 12 yo 100m Fly. Elias, in his first Medways, came first in his age group in the Fly heats, but was unfortunately DQ’d in the final. Haidn was a reserve finalist.

For the girls, Sharay bagged herself a 3rd place in the 50m Backstroke. In the 100m Backstroke for their 16 and over age group Caitlin smashed a gold and won the Open Medway ASA Cup presented by our MASA President and ex Head Coach Mark Durrant!

Chloe Naylor grabbed 2nd place, and a Regional consideration time in the heats, and 3^rd in the final, Lilly Chubb secured 6th place in the 11yr old 100Ba, Hope grabbed 6th place in the 14 yr old 100 Ba final and Grace 4^th in the 16+ final. Dottie, Patricia and Kayla were all reserve finalists. Edie also swam very well in her first Medway Champs gala

Grace and Kayla also both achieved medals in the 400m frontcrawl, Grace taking 3rd place and Kayla 6^th both beating their entry times.

A strong start to the Medway Gala series from our swimmers. Huge thanks to all our coaches, TMs, volunteer helpers, officials and of course to Mark.

MEDWAY GALA 3 on April 18th and the Nore Command L3 on May 30th are CANCELLED.

 Medways Champs L4 2017

Two of the Medway Championship 2017 galas (2 & 5 plus the Nore Command ) are  scheduled to take place at Mote Park rather than Medway Pk. The reasons for this switch can be explained by a member of the committee/Head Coach.

Sign up on the sign up sheet on  the BSS Pool Board at Sheerness Pool at least 4/5 weeks before the relevant gala if you wish to enter your child. Suitable for cat. 1 or cat. 2 swimmers of orange hat up who are at least 10 years old  by 31.12.17
