BSS Club Records

Claiming a short course club record:

A record claimant must have “Beachfield Swimming Squad” as his/her Primary or “Ranking” Listed Club of their ASA membership if, for example, he/she has dual club membership on the date of the swim. Hence times achieved when a BSS swimmer is representing another club, such as KWSS or Tonbridge SC, as a dual member are also acceptable as long as the rankings club is BSS. Acceptable times from:

All short course licensed Meets and Championships, the Nore Command, Official BSS Club Time Trials, BSS Club Champs, KSSA Champs, ESSA Champs (if short course), when representing Medway ASA (e.g. in the annual French gala) or representing Kent County ASA, when representing an Umbrella Club to which BSS belong (such as KWSS) or a club where they are a dual member such as TSC  ( as long as his/her ranking club remains as BSS), Regional ASA or National ASA/British/Home Nation Swimming teams, inter club development and “friendly” galas (e.g. Mike Legrys Memorial Gala) – all must be short course. Short course Kent Junior League and National Arena Swimming League times are acceptable. Times from GB Modern Pentathlon swimming events are acceptable, if swum in a 25m pool.

First leg relay times in freestyle or backstroke at all events above, are also acceptable from the official timings but must be capable of being checked after the event (i.e. the meet organisers publish the time).  However, a first split from the start (or any other “intermediate”) time from an individual race is not acceptable.

Any other swimming event time not mentioned above may be considered for ratification as a club record at the discretion of the club Head Coach and BSS club chairman. Converted LC times are unacceptable.

Claims to enquiries@beachfieldswim.net please.
