SWIM ENGLAND SOUTH EAST WINTER REGIONALS AT MOUNTBATTEN CENTRE PORTSMOUTH SATURDAY 2/11/19 Coach Report

After a long wet drive down to Portsmouth for winter regionals which includes only open and junior age groups  making it very hard for age group swimmers to qualify. 

Beachfield had Brandon and Callie representing the club, unfortunately Leigha was unable to get to the meet due to work commitments. 

Brandon was up first in the 50 breaststroke just a tenth of a second off his pb and the second fastest Kent swimmer, 5 events later Brandon was back In action again just point 28 of a second off his pb in 100Ba  finishing 13th in the open and again the second fastest Kent swimmer there. 

Callie swam to 13th place in the ladies open making her the 3rd fastest Kent swimmer in the 50 free. 

The last event of  the Day for Beachfield swimmers was Brandon in the open 100 IM placing 13th in the open but collecting a silver in the junior event and the second fastest Kent swimmer.

Next day and Beachfield's Callie Ann swam the open  100 free, taking out the first 50 strong. Brandon Harris started off the morning  excellently with a storming performance in the mens open 100 breaststroke collecting nice little pb and the second fastest Kent swimmer. Not so long later Brandon was in competition  again for  the open 50 backstroke , finishing as second reserve for the final, winning the Bronze in the junior event, and also punching his ticket for Winter Nationals with a hard earned process driven performance,  Lily Durnford debuted in the open 100 individual medley with a solid swim. Callie with a slight mix up with her entry time swam the open 50 fly in a slow heat, but it turned out to be her strongest swim of the meet. Jodie also in the same heat swam a great race to pb 

The biggest contingent representing Beachfield in its history with 5 swimmers qualifying for a tough event  Brandon winning a bronze and a silver in the junior events 

Well done Beachfield , looking forward to the next instalment  of Beachfield history with Brandon making Winter nationals for the second successive year - with  this year’s nationals qualifying times a quantum level harder this year than last year’s q times!
